Deze morgen kreeg ik (zoals vele mcadforum leden) een mailtje van Sean Dotson en was me dat even schrikken:

mCADForum members,

I am writing you today to ask a favor and to inform you about a decision I have made. As many of you know I own a custom automation company, RND Automation (www.rndautomation.com). Fortunately that business is going well. Almost too well in fact. The company is demanding more and more of my time. This means that my hobbies must take a backseat to both work and my family.

There are many features and additional things (jobs database and searches, a "reward system", new forum software) I would like to add to both sdotson.com and mCADForums however I do not have the time or resources.

Because of both of these factors I have decided to sell both sites.

Now before you freak out, let me explain. I do not plan to abandon them. I am seeking a party that will take over the day-to-day operations of the site. They would handle administrative tasks such as site hosting, site maintenance, securing advertising and all of the technical decisions.

I would stay on to help supply site content, moderation and guidance for future site expansion.

The site has a lot of potential for income. I do not have the time or resources to pursue advertising but with the right contacts the site can be VERY profitable.

I am looking to sell the site for a fixed price plus a monthly "consulting fee" for my contributions as described above. I am looking for a buyer who has the resources to take the site to the next level. I am also looking for a buyer who will allow the site to have the same level of energy that it currently has. I do not want a large corporation to turn it into a giant ad for their products. Remember you can make money and still offer user a free, enjoyable, non-"in your face" experience (see Google).

So why am I writing you all? Firstly because I think you all deserve to know what is going on. This site is what it is in part due to your participation and help.
